Andrea Shull from Mount Pleasant School, is the winner of the fourth annual RAGBRAI Kids' Art Contest. Andrea's sculpture of a rocket flying over a cyclist captured the theme of “Have a Blast in Mount Pleasant”.
The Des Moines Register and RAGBRAI are saddened by the death of Professor Donald D. Myers. Our thoughts are with his family, his extended family at Missouri University of Science and Technology and his RAGBRAI team. Dr. Myers was a registered rider on RAGBRAI and had been a part of the ride for several years.
After RAGBRAI is over I always notice a lot less bike traffic on the bike trails around Des Moines. I suspect a lot of people make it through RAGBRAI and then hang up their bikes for the season. I hope that's not the case with you.
