Michael has ridden at least part of RAGBRAI for the last five years -- and has eaten his weight in pie every time. He's also been known to pedal an extra 10 or 15 miles to find homemade ice cream.

On Saturday during Ragbrai in Geode park I came accross an accident. A biker was down, I was 2nd or 3rd on the scene. The man did not have any identification he was unconscious but breathing on his own. I stayed with him until the ambulance came. Later I was told by a Burlington hospital employee that this man was life-flighted for head and pelvis injuries. I have not been able to obtain anymore information on this gentleman. I would like to know if possible this man’s condition. I was wondering if anyone had any information.

The name was Dr. Don Myers, a professor of engineering management at Mo. Univ of Science and Technology. He died of his injuries sustained on Saturday. He had ridden RAGBRAI several times previously and celebrated his ability to return this year.
