I often get asked the question: “How many miles should I train before the start of RAGBRAI?”. My answer is that you should have ridden at least 1,000 miles on your bike before you start RAGBRAI (this year, not in your whole life!).
RAGBRAI Director TJ Juskiewicz hosts a video tour of this year's entire RAGBRAI route. As we fly over the state, you can see all 442 miles of terrain along the route, plus get a look at the passthrough and overnight towns from the air.

Now that spring is reluctantly approaching in the Northern Hemisphere, the snow is melting and its now Daylight Savings Time, hopefully you are thinking about getting back out on your bike again, if you haven't already.
We are under two weeks until the RAGBRAI XXXVIII registration deadline for week-long riders. The registration deadline is April 1, 2010. This means that your online registration must be completed by April 1 and your waiver and payment must be postmarked no later than April 1 to be eligible for the lottery.
This year's route might as well have been planned by the folks at the state tourism office. The trip's 10,000 riders will pedal past some of Iowa's most iconic sights, including West Bend's Grotto of the Redemption, the sailboats on Clear Lake and Dyersville's Field of Dreams.

Over 150 community leaders from the RAGBRAI XXXVIII Overnight Town’s local organizing committees gathered in Des Moines for an all-day workshop to prepare them for this summer's event.
