"Iowa Poet Blackie" was a fixture each year on RAGBRAI and other Iowa events. Although we never saw him on a bicycle (trains and motorcycles were his vehicles of choice) he was an Iowan that added character and color every summer to RAGBRAI.
38 Special is scheduled to perform in ST Morrison Park on Friday, July 29 in Coralville, Iowa. Tickets for the concert will be $10 and FREE for registered RAGBRAI participants.

Over 500 entries were received in the 9th annual Guess the Route Contest, but six of eight towns were the best that the contestants could figure out.

Mayor Block always graciously invited RAGBRAI to his small eastern Iowa community. The river town of Guttenberg hosted RAGBRAI’s finish five times.
Not only was the event fun, but it raised money for the Iowa Bicycle Coalition. The event grossed $23,000 which will help support safe bicycling in Iowa.
About 50 Whiners traveled hundreds of miles from Michigan to accept the Ride Cup on Saturday night at the RAGBRAI Route Announcement Party. They also should have picked up the "Mirror Ball Trophy" for the best dance moves as they danced the night away to the Johnny Holm Band.
What's the difficulty of this year's RAGBRAI route and how should you prepare? Now that the overnight towns for this year's RAGBRAI have been announced, we can begin to understand how easy or difficult the ride might be.
