Each year the Dream Team has a slightly different personality. We have spent quite a bit of time recruiting through the schools in Des Moines and have signed up a great group of youth. We have finished out the indoor training phase and are now ready for our first outdoor ride in a couple days.
The deadline for weeklong registration is Friday, April 1! That means that your waivers MUST be postmarked by Friday, April 1. If you are applying for daily wristbands the deadline is not until June 15.
OK RAGBRAI riders, here it is again this year, back by popular demand: The 15 week training plan for RAGBRAI. I have put this plan together to give you an idea of how to build up your riding in a very methodical and gradual manner to ensure you have the ability to ride RAGBRAI comfortably and to be able to finish it successfully.

Gregory Geoffroy, Iowa State University's President, announced plans to step down after a decade of service to the institution. The RAGBRAI visit to Ames and Iowa State University in 2008 was one of the most memorable stops in RAGBRAI history. We thank President Geoffroy for the total support to make it so successful.

In cycling jargon, this is the time of year for base training. For cyclists who follow a regimented training plan, they divide their training year into various phases, or periods. Typically after the winter, where riding is decreased considerably, we need to rebuild some of our fitness going into the summer again.
