Mark Ackelson is stepping aside as president of Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation on April 30th. Mark is an avid cyclist and veteran RAGBRAIer. Under Mark’s leadership, the Foundation has been a leader in the development and support of trails in Iowa.
After a diligent search, the INHF Board of Directors has unanimously chosen Joe McGovern, the Foundation’s current land stewardship director, to lead and support the team as the next president. You’ll find more about Joe and his vision for the future at www.inhf.org/presidenttransition.cfm and in the Spring issue of Iowa Natural Heritage magazine in May.
With the board’s blessing, Joe has invited Mark to serve as part-time president emeritus. Mark will assist this transition for short time, then will be taking on more specific projects as assigned.
We wish you all the best and we will see you this summer on RAGBRAI!
