Florida woman on the hunt for missing RAGBRAI mug

KIMBALLTON — Wanted: 2008 RAGBRAI mug.

Barbara McNeal has been searching for the mug for five years.

After scouring eBay, checking with RAGBRAI organizers and using online forums with no luck McNeal turned to the route.

A cardboard sign on the side of her bike spells out the request.

“It’s the only one I haven’t been able to find anywhere,” McNeal said. “I’m hoping today will be the day.”

She has the rest of the collection, including this year’s, hanging above her fireplace in Tallahassee, Fla.

“I drink a lot of coffee,” McNeal joked.

The Quad Cities native is riding her 33rd RAGBRAI this year. For the past 25 years she’s been riding both directions. McNeal and a group of friends started in Fort Madison about eight days ago.

“It’s almost more fun than this,” she said.

I have a 2008 ragbrai mug. It has a brown water tower design.
My son has been riding ragbrai for the last ten years. So he is somewhere along the route.
He is doing the century ride today.
I’m in Virginia and get daily emails from him.
Matter-of-fact I used it for my coffee this morning.
If you are interested after the dust has settled from this week you can email me
if interested

I have the one from 2000 … I was a chair that year w/two others. What a good time it was!!! Hope you have a GREAT trip … I’m a Broker Associate w/Prudential First of Knoxville. I’ll be greeting at the Jenkins Center for the Pulled Pork dinner from 4-5:30 … Stop in and say hello! Have you met any Canadians … I housed a couple girls the first year from Picton Ontario (my homeland) and it was wonderful. I teach calligraphy and so did one of the sisters. Look forward to seeing you the 24th!

To Dorothy Gilbertson: I would love to get the RAGBRAI 2008 coffee mug, if your son is interested in selling. Don’t have your email address. Looks like they won’t post email addresses here. Can anyone tell me how we can contact each other? Emily Schettler can you help?
