I’ve done the RV thing a number of times, usually with my RV. Finding places to park isn’t usually a problem assuming you’re going the proper route and getting a vehicle pass (make sure you do this). As it gets closer if you want to sign up with guest homes that’s a great way to do it as well. Even if it gets overly packed in a given town, some people will end up in a store parking lot. That’s really not going to be a concern since of late there’s been plenty of room for people to park, but it’s always a fallback option if really needed. The towns have always been accommodating.
As for meeting riders, there’s only the meet up town which is scheduled about half way each day. But depending on the size of your RV or trailer, this can be a bit tricky sometimes. But it can work just fine for that purpose.
Keep in mind that you will virtually never have power for your camper. Unless you are incredibly resourceful. So plan accordingly with either a generator or the expectation that there won’t be power.
Each town will have a place to get water and dump your holding tanks (if so equipped) but sometimes that location is either hard to find or can have a line. But the RAGBRAI folks or the town volunteers can help you locate it. Again, just plan accordingly and you should do just fine.
It’s a nice way to go (and my only way to go) and helps me enjoy my week.
Best of luck with your new rig for RAGBRAI.
