What is the norm when it comes to tipping the staff of the charter groups? Is it customary to tip those who do all the work of taking down, and setting up the tents? Are tips handed out daily, or at the end of the week? How much?
My charter, Pork Belly Ventures, http://www.pkbelly.com/ , has a jar for worker tips. The PBV staff always amaze me with their all they accomplish. There is no “customary” tip, chip in what you think is appropriate!!
Charter crews work long hard days. Most do 12-16 hour days. They handle approximately 5 tons of baggage, equipment, beverages, and ice per 100 rides twice a day. Setup/tear down and keep the coolers full and cold. They really deserve some sort of tip. I would suggest giving them the tip at the end of the week. A thank you every day goes along way for these folks too. As for the tip amount What every you can afford. Be it a Hamilton or a Franklin. Its the gesture that counts.
