I’d like to start off by suggesting The Band of Heathens. New southern rock. Hear some of their stuff here and download for free if you wish.

I really like to hear good LOCAL bands. RAGBRAI gets stuck on certain bands and there is so much good local talent out there that it’s too bad we don’t get more of that. And I mean as the headliner entertainment too.

I suggest the bands that were in Sioux Center and the band that played Anamosa last year. Great party bands. They ROCKED those cities

I don’t think of the two as being mutually exclusive

Agree on local Iowa bands. I have very little interest in big headliner bands that have no connection to RAGBRAI other than getting paid.

Poi Dog Pondering!
And of course it wouldn’t be RAGBRAI unless “The Swing Crew” made an appearance.

The Well Hungarians. I believe they are out of St. Louis. I heard them last summer in Warsaw, Illinois which is just across the river from Keokuk and my first thought was this would be an awesome band on RAGBRAI

Davina and the Vagabonds would be a nice way to wind down the evening.

Again, although it seems fruitless in the last ten years or so…Big Band era music including two-step, waltz, polka and swing music for us folk who love close physical dancing with a partner. Those bands are out there, usually small 5 or 6 person bands. Thanks for your consideration. Cheers.
