Yes, that’s a black bear in an Iowa cornfield!
Brian Gibbs spotted this black bear just outside Yellow River State Forest recently. We’ve only had 2 bear reports this year, but this is breeding season for black bears. Most bears visit from Wisconsin or Minnesota, but usually don’t stay put in Iowa.
If you see a bear, give it space – don’t crowd it or bother it.”
