North or South to get there?
I’m guessing south – maybe through Norwalk? Indianola?
A more northern route would likely have to bring the route across Red Rock on the long bridge. going all the way to Pella, then back to Knoxville would add too many miles for the 49.9 that is quoted for the day.

Definitely a southern route out of Des Moines. TJ hinted about Red Rock, but I’m guessing across the dam on the way to Oskaloosa.
