Sooo stoked for RAGBRAI 2013! Sweet talking/ bribing hubby and three kids, planning on sister and her hubby, hoping our mom will drive support…Are there benefits one way or the other to us registering as a team, or a bunch of individuals? Or try and join an existing group, or check w/ the awesome-sounding Joe’s Bunkhouse I read about? I know I’ll love this week next year, just want the rest of my family to also! Thanks any and everyone.

if 7 riders, 1 non-rider and a vehical register as a group. If you decide to go with a charter I think you could go either way but I think as a group as soon as one is picked in the lottery, all are in. If you find a team to join up with, the team has a # and you sign up as individuals within that group until they are full. The group contact can close the registration and reject people from the group

We ride with a similar sized group every year and it’s better odds in the lottery if you register as a team. Plus, you get to pick a goofy name! Additionally, you must register with at least a group of 3 in order to be eligable for a vehicle pass. Have a fun trip!

Thanks guys or gals for the info. I’m promising a great time, and don’t want to screw it up in the PLANNING stages!

OK-would like another clarification, please…If I can’t get the kids 100% into this, do I register them as non-riders, but also get a daily wristband for them for partial riding? Or just get them a couple of daily bands, and they’re registered riders for whenever? I don’t condone “bandits”. So how do I register people as part of my team, that hopefully will ride some of the route? Thanks again.
