  • Hello:
Forgive me for my shameless self promotion, but I am trying to raise some RAGBRAI funds. Must have Pork Chops! Hopefully since it is a cycling related product, for a cycling related purpose, it will be acceptable.

    Here goes:

Available now on Etsy.com or at http://www.velomel.com.

A handmade upcycled belt made from a used road tire and chain.

    From Bikes
One size fits all. You can trim the belt to the length you need.

These belts make great riding belts because they “give” a little so there is no uncomfortable binding. Great for every day use also. They look great on or off the bike.

Finally a spare tire that looks good!

  • I don’t know if it’s allowed or not but I’ve definitely seen worse things advertised on here. I hope it works and you raise the necessary funds to join us again next year.

  • Ragbrai Nation: The web site is rife with certificate security errors. Not too “shameless.”

    Ragbrai Nation:
I’m sorry you are having dificulties with the site. Were you getting these messages at checkout or just browsing the site?
The site is hosted by Etsy. Etsy is a worldwide e-commerce webhost focused on handmade an vintage items. They have over seven million registered users and over $300,000 in annual sales. I am confident in their security practices. (but one never knows)
When I did a search for “security certificate errors on Etsy”, the main cause was that the date and time of the person’s PC was incorrect (though this wasn’t the cause for everyone). Also, updating their browser and Flash player seemed to help.

If you were wishing to make a purchase, please message me and I’ll be glad to take care of it outside of the site.

    Again, sorry for the inconvenience.
