Curt707:
question for team KG & or Ken on the moon saddle. I just received one from the local agent & can’t fathom exactly where your sit bones are supposed to rest.If your sit bones are behind the bump the pressure on the top of the legs is too much.If sit bones are on or forward of the bump feels like you will slide off & there’s a lot of pressure on the quads, any suggestions? be nice now!
Hi Curt,
Welcome to the Moon Saddle group. There may be 4 or 5 of us on RAGBRAI!!
The seat position takes a little getting used to. Make sure you have the proper angle. The seat should point at the front wheel hub. I also had to make sure the seat was mounted as far back on the seat post as possible.
I find I can move around on the seat depending on conditions. Down hill at speed, I sit way back and lean over. Normal cruising my sit bones are cradled by the two raised lips. I have not found any increased pressure on my legs. I still wear padded lycra shorts although they claim they are not needed.
Give it a little time. The total absence of pressure and numbness in the groin area is a real pleasure.
