“In 2009, the city set up a pump that flowed water from the river to the start of the pedestrian bridge for cyclists to dip their back tire in, per RAGBRAI tradition. Foster said many riders enjoyed the set-up, though diehards wanted to dip their tire in the actual river.
This year, cyclists will be able to do both.”

Thousands of Ragbrai riders will pass through a Des Moines that has seen a lot of changes.
The Ragbrai campground and events will be centered around the downtown area.

Nearly six months before the big event, RAGBRAI announced which towns would host riders during one of the overnights on the state-spanning trip.
Locally, the mayors of Fairfield and Oskaloosa said they’d need the time to get ready………….
