Transportation Ideas from Ft. Madison to Des Moines

  • Hello!
    I am looking for transportation ideas for five people (and five bikes!) to get from Chicago to Des Moines and back to Chicago for a partial-week ride on RAGBRAI. Ideally we would drive from Chicago to Ft. Madison, park, and magically get ourselves to Des Moines by Tuesday night to start riding on Wednesday.

    So…does anyone have suggestions as to how to get us magically from Ft. Madison to Des Moines??

  • Might be easier to drive to DM and find a charter like bike world with empty seats heading back to DM Saturday. We have at times provided last minute rides but numbers of seats not known until after we make out the bus lists to get our people back to DM or Ames.
