We wish the happiest of birthdays to RAGBRAI co-founder, John Karras. Karras, along with Donald Kaul, founded the ride that is known today as RAGBRAI. John still rides RAGBRAI each summer and plans to ride the 38th RAGBRAI as an octogenarian.
Bike Tour News is having a contest for the coolest SAG Bus! Well they call it a SAG bus, but we refer to them as RAGBRAI Buses.
Seems like a large portion of the U.S. is covered in snow right now. If you are a RAGBRAI rider from one of the northern or eastern states and you are frustrated about not being able to do any riding, it may be helpful to know that you can get out and ride even when it's cold.

If you are like those of us here in Iowa, we are snowbound. According to the Groundhog, there will be six more weeks of winter. If that's all we have, I'll be happy. But that doesn't mean we put off getting ready for RAGBRAI.
During the January Meeting for Clubs and Teams, the Dream Team presented thank you plaques to teams that have been financial supporters of the Dream Team over the years.

The RAGBRAI Route Announcement Party was a fundraiser for the Iowa Bicycle Coalition and the RAGBRAI Dream Team. $9,955 was raised for the Iowa Bicycle Coalition through the silent auction, live auction and raffle. The Dream Team raised $1,690 from the silent auction.
