The Rider Cup Award is presented to the club or team that best promotes the RIDE RIGHT® philosophy before and during RAGBRAI. The Rider Cup will be presented to the Whiners at the RAGBRAI January Meeting for Clubs & Teams on Saturday, January 29, 2011 in Des Moines.
I receive quite a few emails, letters and phone calls after RAGBRAI from many who were involved in the RAGBRAI experience. Some are glowingly positive, some offer constructive criticism and some are… well not so nice. The email I received from Grandma Candace of Plover, Iowa truly made my day.
The RIDE RIGHT Community Award is presented each year to the town that best promoted safety events and improved the safety level for riders in their community during RAGBRAI. Clear Lake really went all out for visiting cyclists in an effort to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all.
You have just finished RAGBRAI and hopefully you had a wonderful time. The weather wasn't too bad, typical of Iowa in July. One thing is for certain. If you rode all of RAGBRAI, or even half of it, you are probably in the best shape you'll be in all year, maybe even your whole life!
The RAGBRAI Shop Site is now open. Please visit shop.ragbrai.org.
RAGBRAI reunion: Ankeny, Saturday, Aug. 28
Hundreds of RAGBRAI riders used Twitter this year to post updates throughout the week. The combined effect reads like a journal of the whole week, all told in notes of fewer than 140 characters.
Riders start out their RAGBRAI experience by dipping their rear tires into the Mississippi River.
Riders make their way up the big one.
New Mexico riders test out a prototype "cargo bike" that holds two riders and includes an upright and a recumbent station.
