Scores of riders gave it a go – on their rear ends, standing up or Superman style – and tried to stop before they slid out on the road. Some were more successful than others, according to Weinreich’s daughter, Dawn Plendl, who watched the stunt show from a lawn chair nearby.
Whoever saw Blaze Faber on the route invariably pointed in his direction and uttered something along the lines of “Whoa.” That’s because he was perched way up on an old-fashioned bike, with a 48-inch wheel in front and a smaller wheel trailing behind.
The Main Street here transformed into a small-town Bourbon Street Sunday, filled with costumes, beer and beads.
