The day’s ride is about 64 miles and roughly 2,400 feet of climb. This is one of the flatter finishing days, but a bit longer than most of the ending days. The day’s ride has a few nice hills around West Branch and a few in Davenport. Nothing too bad, so don’t fret.

The day’s ride is about 75 miles and about 2,800 feet of climb. The day is pretty flat, but has a few nice hills towards the end of the ride. Friday’s ride will be the inaugural RAGBRAI College Spirit Day, where we encourage RAGBRAIers to wear their college colors.

The day’s ride is about 56 miles and a mere 1,250 feet of climb. The day felt really flat compared to the rides earlier in the week. The ride would have been a piece of cake except for those pesky 15 mph headwinds and the 90+ temperatures. There are a slew of pass-through towns on this day, with 13 miles being the longest distance between any of the towns.

The day’s ride is roughly 71 miles and about 1,800 feet of climb. That is about 40% of the climb we experienced the day before. We were very fortunate that the winds were favorable for us again, especially since the temperatures were still in the 100 degrees range. The hills were relatively easy, well easy compared to the first two days.

The day’s ride is about 66 miles and just under 5,000 feet of climb. We were fortunate that the winds were favorable for us, but the temperatures rose to over 100 degrees by late in the afternoon. The hills were plentiful, but only a few were real tough.

Seven riders gathered this morning at this summer’s starting site at Glenwood’s High School to start the annual RAGBRAI Route Inspection Pre-Ride. This 454-mile fact finding mission will take place this week, ending at the Mississippi River in Davenport on Saturday, June 11.

The Route Inspection Pre-Ride Team arrived in Glenwood this afternoon preparing for their seven-day journey across the state 50 days in advance of the event.

There really is only one good way to inspect the selected roads for a bike event… get out and ride it on a bike! And that is exactly what we are going to do with a team of knowledgeable cyclists thoroughly examining every mile of the RAGBRAI route on bicycles.
