The Register's Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa

Return to Onawa to Ride Onabike!

The 26th Annual Onabike will be held Saturday, August 25, 2018 in Onawa, Iowa.  Not only is this the biggest one day bike ride in Western Iowa, it is also in memory and honor of Shawn Gosch.  Shawn was a former Chamber Board Member and an active bicycle rider.

Registration begins at 8:00 a.m. at the Onawa Public Library (707 Iowa Ave), the ride starting at 9:00 a.m. with a police escort out of town.  Registration forms are available at or call the Chamber at 712-423-1801.  Registration prior to August 6th is $20 for adults and $10 for kids 12 and under.  After August 6th, the cost is $25 for adults.  Any RAGBRAI rider gets $5 off their registration fee!

Included in the registration fee is a collector t shirt, a meal at Suds-N-Jugs after the ride and SAG wagons.

Riders can pick from a 29 mile route or a 63 mile route.  Both routes are a beautiful ride through the Loess Hills.

This event is put on by the Onawa Chamber and brings over 300 people to Onawa for the day!

I got the link to work by not clicking on it. I typed it into another browser page.

Yea, clicking it sent me to a hacking website! Just copy the link and paste or type it into another browser page.

I want to do this but I am out of shape and only have ridden 12.5 miles furthest. If I die will someone come to get me, or will other riders just take pictures and poke me with a stick? I’m training for RAGBRAI 2019
