ACDSM_500x300A bike art poster show, Artcrank Des Moines will be May 2-29. Right now, getting artists interested in the show is key.

ARTCRANK is an event that features original poster artwork celebrating bicycles and the people who ride them. The event started in Minneapolis in 2007. In 2009, the show expanded to Denver, St. Louis, Portland and San Francisco. Right now, they are working to bring the show to Des Moines in May 2010, and are actively seeking prospective artists to participate in the show.

To give you an idea how popular this event has become in other cities, 85 artists applied for the 2010 Twin Cities show; 35 will be selected. Currently, the event is scheduled to take place at The Des Moines Social Club between Saturday, May 2 and Saturday, May 29.  A Call For Entries is posted on the ARTCRANK web site (http://www.artcrankpostershow.com/des-moines/). They will accept submissions from interested artists from now until Saturday, January 30.  The final list of 30 artists will be announced in early February.
