MELVIN, Ia. — Australian father and daughter duo Stefan and Camilla are riding across Iowa on a tandem bike.
Their epic trip began three days ago from Melbourne, Australia, with the final leg traversing half the country by car from Atlanta.
The visit marks Stefan’s second RAGBRAI and the first visit to the United States for his 8-year-old daughter.
“It’s cool,” Camilla said of her first two days in Iowa.
Stefan said his heart and stomach are set on finding Mr. Pork Chop, an iconic food vendor that has yet to make an appearance.
A fellow rider in his group, Jack Potts, of England, said he’s anxious to get a taste of ice cream and more pie.
The three of them, plus two other Australians and three more from England, are riding with Iowa Valley Bicycle Club.
