Four-year RAGBRAI veteran Shelby Conklin said she was surprised riders weren’t more congested on the Racoon River Valley bike trail – far narrower than the roads cyclists are used to on RAGBRAI.

“I was surprised at how spread out everyone was,” she said. “I thought it would be a lot more packed.”
