If you’re training for RAGBRAI in the Cedar Falls area, you may have noticed a smell.
A break in a sewer line Tuesday sent sewage across a bike trail in Cedar Falls, the Iowa Department of Natural Resources reported.
Authorities said people and pets should avoid the trail between Park Drive to Grand Avenue for two days.
A main in a lift station broke, spilling 1,000 to 2,000 gallons. Investigators couldn’t determine how much, if any, spilled into the Cedar River.
City workers repaired the pipe and applied lime to the area.
