    Route Inspection Ride: Day 2 – Atlantic to Carroll

    The day’s ride is about 66 miles and just under 5,000 feet of climb. We were fortunate that the winds were favorable for us, but the temperatures rose to over 100 degrees by late in the afternoon. The hills were plentiful, but only a few were real tough.

    Route Inspection Ride: Day 1 – Glenwood to Atlantic

    Seven riders gathered this morning at this summer’s starting site at Glenwood’s High School to start the annual RAGBRAI Route Inspection Pre-Ride. This 454-mile fact finding mission will take place this week, ending at the Mississippi River in Davenport on Saturday, June 11.

    RIDE RIGHT Safety Tip #2: The RIGHT Gear.

    Almost all RAGBRAI riders will agree that a helmet is an essential piece of equipment that every rider needs. A helmet will protect your brain if you are involved in a crash. Lights are required if you ride after sundown or before sunrise and could prevent you from being involved in a crash.
