Spring is here and it is time to get serious about your preparation for RAGBRAI. It is a mere 15 weeks away so it is time to start building your miles and fitness. During the past few years, I have shared a basic training outline to give you an idea of the amount of riding you should consider doing to be fully ready to tackle RAGBRAI.

RAGBRAI XLIII is still five months away but that is no reason not to think about getting on your bike and starting your preparation. I don’t know what the weather is like where you live, but if you are fortunate enough to live where it is warm right now and can ride outside, go for it.

Once again Coach David Ertl will be providing training tips to help you prepare for a successful and fun RAGBRAI. Regardless of your goals, whether to ride the entire route or just do some of it, hopefully I will be able to provide some useful information to help you prepare. The two most important things about making RAGBRAI successful is to have fun and to finish it safe and sound. I will address issues related to this all season.
