Charity Fundraising with RAGBRAI

RAGBRAI cyclists are some of the most community-driven and passionate people. Now, with the power of GoFundMe paired with the kindness of this community, it is easy to use your ride as a way to raise money for a cause you care about.

Why fundraise?

  • Raise more for a charity you love than you could donate alone!
  • Giving back helps cycling 460 miles feel even more meaningful
  • Riders who fundraise $500 or more receive special swag to say ‘thank you!’

How does it work?

1. Choose a charity

Visit gofundme.com/RAGBRAI and enter the name of the charity you want to fundraise for in the search bar.

2. Follow easy prompts

Enter your zip code, select a reason for fundraising (i.e. ‘community’), and follow the simple steps to set up your fundraiser. Tip: Not sure what to choose for a fundraising goal? Try $1,200

3. Add your personal touch!

Why did you join RAGBRAI? Why did you select this charity? Do you have a great photo of you and your bike? Don’t be afraid to get creative with your fundraiser photo or description.

4. Rally your community

Friends? Neighbors? Coworker? Family? Now you have another reason to talk about the impressive mileage you’re riding- it’s for a great cause!

Fundraising with a team?

You can add team members to your fundraiser once it is created!

Meet Anna

Anna is the creator of the fan-favorite Facebook group, RAGBRAI Newbies. She is riding RAGBRAI for the second time and has chosen to fundraise for IOWA Bicycle Coalition as her way of saying “Thank you!” for the incredible work they do in making cycling safe and accessible across Iowa.

Meet Dr. Doug

Dr. Doug is raising money to benefit Stand Up To Cancer. After battling rounds of chemotherapy, he has a message for cancer: “never mess with people in Spandex, especially as we ride RAGBRAI.” We are inspired by his story and the his desire to use this ride as a way to help such an important cause.
