The Quad Cities Bicycle Club was organized in early 1964. Activities included racing, touring, and social riding. In 1971 the QCBC was incorporated in the State of Iowa. During the initial “RAGBRAI” in 1973, the QCBC became the first official charter service which it has provided for every year following. The Quad Cities Bicycle Club activities expanded to provide its annual weekend Tour of the Mississippi River Valley (TOMRV), Bi-annual Tailwind Centuries and annual events such as the RAGBRAI for Rookies seminar, Cruisin’ the Celtic Isles, Spring into Cycling open house, Bike to Work Week events, the Quad Cities Criterion, the Heartland Century, hosting a weekend Fall Foliage Tour in Wisconsin, as well as Club Rides of all abilities.
