On Tuesday evening in Leon, RAGBRAI will remember Chris Charron. Chris’s passion pushed RAGBRAI into the digital age with their first website as well as his Virtual RAGBRAI. The evening tribute will take place in Leon, Iowa at the Freedom Rock located in the shadow of the main stage in Leon’s town square beginning at 8 pm.
Chris Charron was a long-time employee and member of the Businessolver family. His impact on the organization traversed both professional and personal lines, and he will be forever remembered for his significant contributions to the proprietary Benefitsolver platform, and the gracious and unassuming spirit of giving he drove amongst the Businessolver workforce. Chris Charron had many passions in life, of which one significant outlet was supporting the RAGBRAI organization. Whether he was riding with his family and friends, reporting through virtual RAGBRAI in the early hours of the morning, creating freedom rides to honor the lost lives on 9/11 or aiding the organization in adopting the digital era over the last 20 years – Charron was and is a significant face and voice in the RAGBRAI history.
Many Businessolver team members will participate in this leg of the ride in honor of Chris Charron. This stop on the RAGBRAI tour seems fitting given Chris Charron’s strong patriotism. Friends and family will have the opportunity to share stories and pay tribute. In true Chris Charron fashion, a toast in his honor will conclude the ceremonies.
Businessolver, a leading SaaS-based benefits administration technology company and it’s charitable arm, the Businessolver Foundation, recently announced a partnership with RAGBRAI which includes an ongoing annual sponsorship of $10,000 in memoriam of a Businessolver employee.
“Establishing a fitting legacy for Chris Charron was our core mission,” says Businessolver Senior Vice President and Businessolver Foundation Lead Brooke Knight. “We’ve accomplished that through our partnership with RAGBRAI, and believe that this creates a tribute and legacy to a man who gave so much, to so many over the years.”
The newly formed partnership also includes providing heart healthy checks to RAGBRAI riders in different locations throughout the week-long ride.
