Prior perusal of Google Maps indicated work on the bridge crossing the Boone River, east of Hutchins. Current satellite image shows a new, apparently intact, bridge at that spot (which doesn’t necessarily mean it’s ready for traffic). The Mason City route map shows a return to 225th St. west of Hutchins, i.e. not explained by the bridge in question. Thus I wonder if there is another problem on 225th St., e.g. work on a different bridge, or hostile locals. We sometimes roll late, so I don’t want to be on Rte. 18 after traffic control has ended. Maybe we’ll just drop down to 220th St., and eat a couple miles of gravel. Or, again, maybe we’ll just tiptoe up to the railroad bridge just north of 225th St.
I hope somebody local will contribute updated intel here.
