Bill you said “bouncing back quickly.” I’ll be riding at 64 yoa and that just doesn’t happen for me. David Ertle writes that the ability to recover is the first thing that goes with age. (Maybe not 1st, but, close) I’m impressed by the miles some riders are getting in, but, I’m closer to bbrandon – recovering from knee surgery and I just got on the bike for the first time this year last Friday. Rapid gains just aren’t coming, but, I expect to have 600 miles in and I’ll make it through as I did at age 58 – 15 miles – rehydrate and refuel (coke and rhubarb pie) and ride again. I’m just planning on the first three days, but, if my schedule changes and I can get a wristband I’m up for it.
