To AdventureDad and anyone else who has kids, you have to read the book by Joe Kurmaskie (aka The Metal Cowbay) titled Mud, Sweat and Gears. Joe has ridden across a lot of continents, but this book is (to me) the best and funniest, and craziest.
He pedals across the USA with his 2 sons, one on a tag-a-long and one in a trailer. Pulling all this by himself!
This might give you an idea what you’d be in for, or look forward to.
From others suggestions here, it sounds like if you want to do this, you’ll need to have a back up plan. i.e. someone with a vehicle to schlep the young-uns as needed. Having a breakdown in the middle of a day and no way to SAG the kids would be a real problem.
