Mich…I’m taking my time on Saturday too…I love the last day when there’s no hurry for me.  I stay overnight in the end town and head back home on Sunday.  Sometimes there’s some nice music and other entertainment on that Saturday evening.  Love it!   Anymore,  I don’t take “next year” on RAGBRAI  for granted…so  I really enjoy that last day…just in case!

More riders should plan to do this! There’s a LOT to do in and around downtown Davenport on July 30 (Farmers’ Market, Street Fest, and River Bandits baseball just to name a few)… all easily-accessible from the dip site(s), plenty of options for lodging (I just created a Couch Surfing group!… so check it often as it populates with available couches), and if Mother Nature plays nice, we’ll also have an abundance of riverfront camping on tap. Plenty of reasons not to rush home.
