At&T is pretty shoddy in Iowa….  Especially western Iowa….  You will be to access the internet using WiFi by the trailers in the overnight towns and some of the libraries along the way….  That was what I did the first year I had the iPhone….  Now I don’t bother with the internet (other than the weather)….  It will all be there when I get home….

As for texts, those are usually the best way to communicate….  The phone will keep trying to send a text until it goes through….  If you try to call, you might have trouble getting a signal….  Actually, there is no might….  You WILL have trouble getting a signal with AT&T….
