Well I started this post to get some info on how to prepare and I must admit, I’ve gotten lots of really great info. Though I do think the words “wimp” and “wimpified” have been overused and are do not pertain to the original intent of this post. The technology today allows us to gather info so much more rapidly and in greater volume than years past. “Thank You” Gates and Jobs and all the other tech age gurus. We didn’t have this readily available information when I hiked up Longs Peak in Rocky Mountain National Park. I just read a couple of articles from a magazine about the hike. I had to leave at 2am with a small flashlight in hand so I could get back by 1pm and avoid the afternoon lightning storms that came thru on most days. Not fun being 14,260 feet up on a mountain with no shelter and lightning popping all around. It was a great 15 mile hike. Anyway, I certainly hope to meet some of you folks on this ride as you’ve all been really great at giving feedback and helping me plan my next great adventure accordingly.
