2018 Guess the Route Contest Predictions

Its time to put in what our guesses are for the “Guess the Route” contest. Since this is not a RAGRBRAI ending in a 0 like the 40th, I think they’ll stick with the northern-central-southern route rotation making this year a central route. I’m working on mine. I think this year we’ll be enjoying some of the Iowa’s slightly larger cities. Starting in Council Bluffs, going through Ames and ending in Dubuque. Let’s start putting out our full route predictions we’ll actually enter the contest with!

I saw that link a couple months back as well. I thought it was a little too obvious. My gut says Clinton, Bellevue, or Dubuque. However, my head kinda says Davenport.

Wahoooo! My trusty crystal’s record remains unsullied. It went 0-fer again. The only thing it got right was that the ride would start and end in Iowa.

I thought I would audition a Magic 8-ball as a replacement. After the towns were finally revealed, I asked it if each town would be on this year’s route. The answers ranged from “maybe” to “ask again later.” Then I asked it if the ride would be in Iowa and it said “definitely not.” Finally I asked if the ride would be in Illinois this year. When it answered “yes”, I tossed the Magic 8-ball into the recycle bin. I’ll stick with my crystal.

Congratulations to whoever won the guess the route contest. Your powers of clairvoyance have my deepest respect and admiration.

See you along the I-O-Way in July.
