Just added up the daily mileage posted on the new daily routes. I get 453.5 total. Also see that the route shown now misses Rockwell City (one of the meeting towns).

I can’t find info on the gravel or Karras loops but that will extend it a bit.
flyinbrian,
I let Andrea know the gravel route and Karras Loop seems to be missing from the new maps they published. The new maps are nice but just need to be updated to reflect those add-on routes. Along with the statistics for them of course.
DenBiker,
I get 453.5 also. The top of the page for the over night towns says 454 miles total. The route has changed to avoid towns that opted out I know. Maybe that accounts for the difference if you are comparing it to the original mileage from the 2020 announcement?

Yes I was comparing to the original route but it looks like I was not the only one. Quoting from the announcement that 2021 is a “GO”,
“The 2021 route starts in Le Mars with overnight stops in Sac City, Fort Dodge, Iowa Falls, Waterloo, Anamosa, DeWitt before ending in Clinton. Sac City and DeWitt will host riders overnight for the first time in RAGBRAI’s history. The route is 426 miles long with 11,481 feet of climb making it the sixteenth flattest in the ride’s history.”
I’m glad to see a few more miles added to the adventure. We are further inspired by the differences in mileage day by day. A long day to start, then a few shorter days to recover (while riding), then another big day. We’re planning the use the short final day as a celebration ride looking forward to sipping champagne on the Champs-Élysées in Clinton IA
