About the only thing we know for sure, is it will be a West to East route!!!!!
And unlike the Tour de France, which has started in non-French locations like Amsterdam, Liege, London, and West Berlin (there have even been talk/rumors of the Grand Départ eventually being hosted in America!) as well as crossed borders into neighboring countries, it will officially remain entirely within Iowa.

Additionally (though I am not sure how this matters) unlike the tour de france it is not a race.
