5 late 20-somethings riding for a week-long bachlorette party looking to join a team. We are all professionals (pilots, PR, engineer). All ladies are first time riders and would like to join a group smaller than the sponsored ride itself. We were going to do a charter from Omaha but the price seems pretty steep for 5 people. Flying in from Seattle, DC, Philly and Miami so we are flexible with our starting location. We would love to join a team who likes to have fun and can provide week-long support, coolers, etc. Please reply with the cost per person and where you start from. Looking forward to joining your team!
Thanks,
Morgan

You should contact Team Michrider on this Forum.
I highly-recommend Pork Belly Ventures (see the link) who stages out of Council Bluffs, just across the river from Omaha. Because you are all coming in from all over the country your choosing Omaha as your Iowa point-of-entry is good choice and would stick with that, provided Pork Belly can still assist you this late in Ragbrai group logistic process.
I have heard nothing but good things about Pork Belly Ventures and I’m sure their price is right. After your first Ragbrai experience you may be able to streamline your expense account and methods for repeating Ragbrai but for the first time around I would formulate an expense account at least what is recommended by the information provided on this web site’s FAQ’s, published preparation and forums. Good luck girls!!!

QCBC Charter Service. You can fly into Moline International Airport. It is approximately 5 miles to are staging area at Isle of Capri Casino. We have free long term parking at the site for our riders. The Isle has shuttle service to the airport. We also have an arrangement with the casino for rooms. For more information.

I really, really wish I could get my hands (physically) on those spammers.
Morgan,
We are interested in having your party join our team.
To tent, the cost is about 300.00 per rider for the whole week.

Iceman, excellent idea!!!!!!
So-we are a group of about 8+/- guys(sometimes “GALS” as well) who have participated in Ragbrai since 1998,Team Slacker. Our group ranges in age from 40’s-late 60’s in age,and hail from NYC/Chicago/Cleveland/LA/Minneapolis/South Dakota…..Mostly professional types-Dr/Dentist/Re/Engineer/Entrepeneurs…..
We rent an RV in Cleveland on the Friday before Ragbrai starts, spend Friday evening @ a members home in Chicago, and arrive at the starting town Saturday evening. The RV sleeps 8 comfortably, with additional riders pitching tents outside the RV,usually @ a host’s home. The cost per person is usually between $600-$750 per person “all inclusive”-transportation/gas/tolls/BEER+/daily shopping for necessary food/necessities by driver. Our Driver is a cyclist who is &0+ 7 has done this trip numerous times. Goud group that has Ton of Fun

Morgan,
Have not heard anything from you and still would love for you and your bachelorette party to join our team for the week of the ride. We can pick all of you up in Omaha on Saturday the 21st in the late morning/early afternoon and drop all of you back off in Omaha the following Saturday night. Your flights would need to be sometime on Sunday. Based on working schedules, we may spend the night in Omaha and continue driving back to Salt Lake City (original starting point) Sunday morning.
We rent an RV and drive it to Omaha and meet up with your gang and another rider who will fly into Omaha on Friday night. Last year he stayed in Council Bluffs, IA. and it worked out well. If everybody flies in late Friday/early Saturday morning and fly out from Omaha on Sunday after the ride. This would be great.
We are a team of 5 with one from California and 4 to 5 from Salt Lake City (one married couple). We do party and the couple owns a bar here in Salt Lake City. Let’s just say we are mature rock stars between late 30’s to mid 40’s.
The price for the five of you would be around $300.00 each. This includes all the food in the RV and SAG/support. All rider (with your party included, 10 to 11 in all) are encouraged to buy one case of beer and 1 to 2 bags of ice for the week. We also hit Sam’s club for booze (food in RV is included in the 300.00) and split the tab between the riders. Last year it was about $40.00 bucks each.
We can supply tents and air mattresses for you (one sleeps 3 and the other sleeps 2), just bring light blankets and pillows.
Don’t know if you have every done RAGBRAI before. All of us have done the ride at least 7 to 8 years. This is the third year I have arranged the RV.

Another option…. we are a team based in Des Moines. We usually have riders from throughout the country who meet up in DSM or the start town (some just meet up there depending on their travel). We are ages 25-60 of all riding experiences. We try to stay in host housing all week – its been years since we have camped out. We offer full support on a fun team. The cost is about $125 per person for van rental and gas.
Let me know if you are interested – just send me a private message and I can provide some additional information.
