Baseball Fans on Ragbrai – Burlington Bees

Just an FYI for all you baseball fans that will be on Ragbrai. The Burlington Bees (single A minor league affiliate for the Angles) will have a home game in Burlington the same day/night Ragbrai is in Burlington on Friday July 26th. The Bees schedule doesnt have the time of the game posted yet. Might be something worth checking out.

Are the Angles [sic] right or isosceles? Not that it matters, but when the isosceles Angles’ hits are substantial, whereas the right Angles tend to hit a lot of pop flies. Just wondering. (grin)

And thanks for the heads-up. A perfect way to spend a perfect evening on the perfect ride.

The Bees are about as minor as you can get in the minor leagues, but I understand their games can be fun. The stadium only holds 3,200, so everybody won’t be able to go! I live a little over an hour away, and we can sometimes get $5 tickets. I still have never been, but our HS baseball team plays a game there every year.

Oops…. wasn’t paying attention. ANGELS. Not angles.

How much will tickets be?

Mark Bundick, February 7, 2019 at 7:56 am

Seems that you can’t buy tickets just yet and I couldn’t find any pricing on their site. But here is the site location for future reference.

KenH, this might be fun to do depending on what else Burlington has to offer.

I came up empty, too, but it looks like in 2012 the highest ticket price was $8.

I’m in! I love minor league ball.

Mike Howe, February 7, 2019 at 3:44 pm

Since its Single A ball I cant imagine the tickets being anymore than $10 to $15. Unless Mike Trout happens to be on a rehab assignmemt and is sent to Burlington. ?

Last year they AVERAGED 859 people per game. I’ll plan on going to the game.

RAGBRAI could blow their average game attendance figures out of the water. :-)

I don’t know if they still have it, but they used to offer “The Best Seat in the House” promotion. One lucky ticketholder got to move from his seat to a recliner next to the press box.

I am in for baseball. Love going to games regardless of the level. We should try to get a group together. I bet group sales would love to have us and work out a deal if we organized it. They are in the same league as the Kane County Cougars here in Il and that organization is all about groups coming in and having fun. Most of the minor leagues work that way as well.

I think the question we all want to know is: What is the beer special?

Larry Klaaren, February 8, 2019 at 11:12 am

Kane County Cougars are a great night out. We are in Joliet Slammer country here, also always a good time and reasonable money. We may be on to something. A group would be hard to work out, but maybe a discount with a wristband?
