there is only one way to find out…might be a bit funky. LIke an extremely vanilla flavored milk stout
There might be a market for this on the route if I can’t ride again……..
Wouldn’t Guiness work? It looks kinda root beer – y?
While strolling the beer aisle at Dahl’s Grocery I spied Bohemia on the shelf for the first time and ON SALE for $6.39 a six pack. The regular price being $7.99 and based on Iceman’s repeated recommendations I had to buy a sixer. I am on my second bottle right now, the first washed down some of the Little Stoker’s left-over pizza from Orlando’s. An OK beer I must say, yes I would buy another sixer, but it will not replace my Fat Tire 1559.
Got to go with Smithwick’s Irish Ale for my brew of choice. Pike’s Kilt Lifter Ale out of Seattle is pretty good too. San Miguel beer’s not bad either (I spent many a night drinking that while in the Navy)
Come to the August 27th Brew-BQ-Bike Ride Too in Independence, Iowa. Day starts with a casual 25 to 50 mile ride. Then back to Riverwalk Park to sample barb-b-que cook off. Cap the ride off with unlimited sampling of micro brews from northeast Iowa’s breweries. Live music too. All for just a $20 registration fee.
Left Hand Milk Nitro is really good, albeit hard to find.
Newcastle is still my favorite, Smithwick’s and Guinness are a good option as well.
Michelob Amber Boch is the best domestic in that line I’ve had.
Love a good smooth Ale or Stout.
BigBird; Aug 27th is a Monday!?! You guys really know how to start a week!
My bad. Make that August 25th. But if you play your cards right you can still be drinking on the 27th!
And if you like Smithwick’s and Guinness, they serve it on tap the entire weekend of Irish Fest is Waterloo, Iowa on August 3, 4 and 5th. Plus great Celtic bands like Gaelic Storm, Scythian, the Kildares, Dublin City Ramblers, Wild Colonial Boys and my personal Irish Pub band, Wylde Nept. You might even here me playing my bagpipes.

Samuel Smith’s Oatmeal Stout
Guinness Extra Stout
Guinness Foreign Extra
Shiner Bock
Shiner black
S.S. brown nut ale
Not necessarily in that order…
At Giant: many better domestic bocks than Mich. unless you are calling Shiner a craft.
