With the number of Covid cases rising across the country. What are your plans in regards to mask wearing? I plan on wearing one on the bus from Clinton to Lemars and carrying one during the ride in cases I am in large crowds in the pass through towns. I have been fully vaccinated however I have known a couple of people that contracted it after they were vaccinated. They only had mild symptoms however I really don’t want to screw up this week of fun.

Not wearing one. Fully vaccinated. Don’t worry about those not vaccinated. Even if I got it, tending to be very mild of anything. I doubt you will see many. If that scared, people probably stay home.

My plans are pretty similar to yours, Mike. I’ve been more careful lately, not just because I don’t want to mess up RAGBRAI, but because I have a family member doing a long-term hospital stay and I don’t want to lose the ability to visit. So I figure I’ll wear a mask indoors or in particularly crowded spaces.
Also, I’ve heard that the #1 method of disease prevention in all of history is simply cleaning your hands.
Burnt all mask after the vax.
I’m bringing a mask and will use it if crowds get to tight in pass through towns. Hand sanitizer as well and no beers or sodas from ice tanks where people just stick there hands in and pull one out. Draft beer only :-)
No mask for me; got Moderna-ized back in Feb. I have the good blood type, O+, so I have that going for me.
Got my shots months ago, will not be wearing a mask.
Our party of 6 is canceling because of the covid surge. I’m going to a funeral right after RABRAI and do not want to risk infecting relatives. I’m attempting to figure out how to transfer our passes but cannot figure out how to create a topic on this forum
Nevermind. I figured out how to post. My scrolling skills are not very good.
I plan to, and will encourage my team, to carry hand sanitizer and mask up in larger crowds. We all are vaccinated.
Been vaccinated. I’ll probably wear one on the bus and in crowds. It’s not a hardship for me nor is it a political statement. It just makes sense to me. I’ll have a personal size hand sanitizer with me for the week and try to use it as well.
we dropped out due to delta variant concerns – doesn’t seem like many precautions are being required and it’s not worth the risk. porta potties and semi truck showers aren’t the most sanitary in regular conditions, let alone in a pandemic
I couldn’t find someone to work for me this year. Imagine that in this bustiness environment. I am 68, and all of my friends and the relatives I socialize with are somewhere in that vicinity. Some who are very close to me emotionally have illnesses that prevent them from being vaccinated. I would wear a mask just to protect them. It is well known that vaccinated people can contract a mild case and spread the virus, but rarely pass away. I would hope that younger people would be willing to do the same for us. It is so easy to wear a mask relative to the risks for yourself and others.

Did you get rid of your passes? Give me a call or text if you still have them. Steve at 515-360-8765. Thanks.
I’m vaccinated. Have to mask up on bus. Other than that I’ll let Darwin handle it.
