Same here. My son and I were on RAGBRAI all week. We just tested positive yesterday and today, respectively.

On the Facebook side of the RAGBRAI ride were reports of Covid infecting teams. One discussion concerned the shuttle busses from Lansing to Sergeant Bluff. Had 1 team member test positive after returning home. Concern for others who shared the same bus.

We did not go this year but have just heard from a friend who was on it this year and is now sick with covid.

Not me! Tested twice since leaving Iowa, both negative. Feel great.

An unwelcome souvenir from what was an amazing week despite this! We’re at 7 out of 25 on our team so far testing positive for Covid 😢

I tested positive Sunday evening after riding the last three days. Felt like I spent 98% of my time outdoors!

Came hope Wednesday with covid. Been fighting it for almost a week now.

After day 6 of this year’s ride, I had sxs of food poisoning, nausea, extreme fatigue, and stomach issues. Possibly covid ? Did a rapid test Sunday evening and it was negative.

Felt crappy on Sunday with runny nose and cough. Tested positive for COVID on Monday. Starting to feel better today.

Didn’t do RAGBRAI last year due to COVID risk.

Felt fine and tested negative with a rapid test yesterday, but mild aches and chills and a positive rapid test today. And I was one of the very few who carried a mask with me everywhere and wore it indoors, so I probably got infected somewhere outside. I’m good at avoiding crowds, but not *that* good.

Wow. I came here to see if anyone else was reporting COVID, three out of the four people I know who rode have symptoms, two have tested positive, one is negative but has all of the symptoms. One is clear. All are vaccinated.

One of the people just tested positive today after negative tests Sunday and Monday.

Such a bummer.

I spent the weekend after the ride with family in the Des Moines area-/left early Sunday for the 2 day drive back to Virginia. Woke up Monday with congestion and cough. Felt even worse Tues morn and did the home test- yep, I got it.
Not the way I wanted to remember one of the greatest weeks I’ve spent with a bike stuck to my a&&.

Was fine all week except for the last day when I had a bit of a scratchy throat, tested positive on Sunday. Was outside 99% of the time, that BA.5 strain is no joke.

I road the 1st three days to Emmetsburg. That night I woke with fever so went to the 1st aid station where I tested positive for the virus. The nurse said that I had to go home so with much effort, my pal and I packed up and drove to my truck in the Quad City area. We picked up my truck, returned the rental car to Emmetsburg then headed out to home, Arkansas.

The virus was a typical case and ran it’s course in 5 days, now testing negative but still masked.

I enjoyed the ride, the virus was no one’s fault. That’s just the luck of the draw. Where did I get the virus? No idea. With elbow to elbow traffic in some towns I am not surprised that I came down sick.
