I’m looking to get 1 on my arm/forearm area that has to do with ragbrai and each year I do ragbrai get year put into it

I Googled “cycling tattoos” and after about an hour, got tired of looking at them…there are a zillion!
I remember when Selene Yeager did the Ironman in Kona. She got the Ironman logo surrounded by a Hawaiian theme (waves, surfboard, flowers, etc.) tattooed on her leg. Pretty cool. You may want RAGBRAI w/the classic weathervane or something similar! (That may be a copyright issue) J

I’m well known among my friends for changing my mind frequently. I might buy a bike, fall in love with it, then sell it a year later for something new…no reason, just because. Same with cars, furniture, etc.. Weird & wasteful, I know. As such, I have toyed with the idea of getting a cycling tattoo, but the permanent nature of them doesn’t mesh with my flighty personality.

That said, I really like the idea of a cycling tattoo that lends itself to updating with accomplishments and milestones like annual RAGBRAIs. Maybe I will “tattoo” my bike with a custom decal (RAGBRAI XL, XLII, XLV, XLVI, XLVII & fingers crossed XLVIII). Easy enough to peel off when I inevitably change my mind.

I just leave all the bike bands on my bike. I have had people take photos the bands on my top tube. Alternatively, wearing RAGBRAI merchandise or having a “RAGBRI” auto license plate creates many unexpected fun conversations in this state to the east. No body ink required.

Maybe RAGBRAI should offer temporary tattoos in their shop? I don’t really “get” the notion of permanently marking my body with a design I might get very tired of in a few years. A temporary tattoo could be a lot wilder in size or design without any long term worries.

Whenever I wear my RAGBRAI jerseys on the Will county trail system in the southern suburbs of Chicago, I often have somebody tell me about the year they did RAGBRAI or how many years they have done it. I usually stop at a Farmer’s Market in Frankfort to eat or get a slushie and that’s where I get approached. One guy lived directly across the street from the house behind my house.

I have a RAGBRAI tattoo on the outside of my left leg with years ’03 through ’19 on it. Trying to figure out what I should put where ’20 would have gone (maybe skull with crossbones)

Oh, heck, I can’t seem to copy and paste here. BUT…it’s a heartbeat / pulse monitor squiggle, evolving into a bicycle, and back to a heartbeat. You’ve probably seen it. Ride hard, my friends.

I came up with an idea for a tattoo….I’m gonna do something like a chain with ragbrai inside of it and the years I have done eagbrai in the chain links…Its gonna be on my arm… I told tattoo artist what I was wanting she is suppose to draw something up I’m getting it done December 9th

For years I’ve thought about getting a chain tattoo on the inside of my right calf!! There’s a “temporary” chain marking there half the year anyway. I’m liking some of the ideas I see but will still put it inside the right calf!
