Day Two, full route. Thoughts?

Looks like a hybrid of the 2011 day through Templeton and the 2008 day from Coon Rapids into Jefferson. Rollers 3/4 of the day then a nice gentle ride into Jefferson.

The meeting town skews toward to the ending side. Maybe we will feel a little rushed in the morning? We are a very slow team — not riding-wise but stopping longer in passing towns. I can see we’ll be swept out of the second Iowa Craft Beer garden by state troopers at 6:00 pm.

I think Templeton will turn into a defacto meeting town for some teams. I think our team will probably meet there.

I’m more of a craft beer guy but I do plan on having some Templeton in Templeton. Sounds fun!

Looks like a fun day. Lots of stops to relax and fuel up to get to then next town.

I think this will be long, rather tough day. I used to pheasant hunt in this area a lot and as I recall, it is hillier than you think, big long rollers with some long climbs. Couple that with the beautiful auburn color of that Templeton Rye, it could be long day, long but good :) We will all sleep well in Jefferson.

A breeze out of the east will definitely make for a long day but the profile doesn’t show any “hors categorie” climbs. Can’t wait.

I hope that Templeton Distillery is open for tours and tastings like the last time we rode through Templeton. I heard that they also have pork chops with the hogs feed with the mash. That would be a great chop.
