I am interested in replacing my 2020 RAGBRAI with a brewery hopping ride in and around Des Moines. I would like to do a 3-4 day ride with maybe 3-4 brewery/pub stops per day, motel overnighting but open to camping. Does anyone already have such a route in hand they would be willing to share?

I dont have a route or plan but it sure sounds like an interesting idea, one I would enjoy. It is certainly doable and you could do much of it on some great trails as well. One day on the Raccoon River trail, one day on the High Trestle trail and one day in and around DSM with a quick run down to Cumming. All based in or around DSM somewhere. Good luck and great idea.
If someone is willing to take charge and “make it happen” I can mail that brave soul local trail maps and some current observations of trail conditions. For instance the Raccoon River Valley Trail is closed due to bridge replacement with no detour available between Adel and Redfield plus lights are being placed on the bridge over the Raccoon at Adel with access only evenings and weekends. Maybe chose a hotel and a date span and “they will come”.

I wonder if the construction will be completed in time for the Bacoon Ride on August 1st?
As far as the Brewery Hopping ride, if the Bacoon goes you might get some out of towners to join in who are coming in for the Bacoon. Assuming it happens on the Sunday after the Bacoon.
Interesting and great point on the Bacoon ride. One day of this brewery hopping ride is already done, planned out, entertainment booked, camping available, etc. Just bookend the Bacoon with a ride on Friday maybe on the High Trestle and Sunday in and around DSM and you will have had a very fun three days. This is definitely doable. You could even make your base “camp/hotel” out around Waukee or West Des Moines somewhere to be close to the before and after action of the Bacoon. This has great potential!
