yes another 31 miles today
Did a quick 15 miler today before work, mid sixties and sunny with just a little wind on the way back. Planning on doing a century in another week to help a friend train for some nutty 100 miles on gravel race in MN. Probably should have started early and quadrippled the distance.
Did 30 miles today. Average Speed 16 mph. It was a balmy 41 degrees here in MN. Luckily it didn’t start snowing until after I got home.
41 miles, 3100 feet of climb, tough miles. I figure it was like 80 road miles, effort wise, with the rocks, sand, crumbling black top, and washboard roads. There’s about 4 miles of good black top, 1 up hill, 1 down hill, 2 level. Iced the knees. Now I’m getting ready to mix up some pain killer, rum and cola.
47 miles last night. We had 214 riders pedal the Boston Marathon course @ midnight. We had all kinds of weather. Beautiful upper 40s to sleet and rain mix. No wind. Much fun.
Temps of 71 degrees, with 15 mph wind out of the SW. Great day for riding 40 miles. I’m doing my Budweiser training right now (in a chair, no curb)!
Rode 16.5 miles yesterday…first time back on the bike since Day 4 RAGBRAI crash last summer – feels great to be back in the saddle!!
Will this work? http://connect.garmin.com/activity/79856092
Got in 60 on Sat. I will try to go again Tues. PM.
Keep noticing all the talk about WIND! Has been a windy spring here as well (NE KY).
On a recent ride (on a long climb), my friend said he believes that there has been more WIND during the past couple years. I said, “more wind maybe, but there has been more GRAVITY for sure”! UUGGH!!
PS: Got 33 miles Saturday in WIND, rain, and really chilly temps!
I rode Saturday 4-16-11 on the Des Moines mayor’s ride for Trails 20 miles with winds gusting up to 39 mph. I then did 31 miles on Tuesday 4-18-11with 3-11 mph wind from the east. I’m mostly worn out.
Rode the monon trail from downtown Indy on Sunday (4-17) A.M. Sunny and 50ish, lite wind. Got in 25 miles before heading back home. Rode 10 mile loop near the house (4-18), in N. IL., Windy/cloudy and cold. Wanna go back to Indy….
I’ve gotten in about 330 miles in the last three weeks. The biggest chunk was last Saturday when I rode 75 miles, but only about 1300 feet of elevation gain. A quarter of that did come over just 1.25 miles though (spin, spin, spin).
25 miles, 2000 feet of climb, rocks, sand, no snakes, the restraining order must be working.
