I suspect there will be no contest this year, a casualty of the leadership change chaos. Most likely if we want a contest we will have to organize it ourselves by posting our final guesses to this thread. There will be no prizes, just bragging rights.
Unless some official body sees this thread and steps up at the last minute….

Mine does and I suspect the others do as well. With Dyersville hosting MLB three weeks after RAGBRAI, I suspect we either have a Friday overnight there or it is the meetup town on Saturday. Either way points toward a climb of Potter hill.
So do we think the end will be Dubuque? That seems to be popular. And LeMars as a start? I heard that rumor on the ride last year. Just in case it matters, I am fine with these start and finishes! Princess approved! LOL!
Here’s my 2020 pick for Ragbrai 47. TJ took Dubuque off the table and Rock Rapids off my list for a Northern Route this year. I’ve never picked more than 3 correct nor less than 2 so this could be the year I get all 8 or none at all.
Hope to see you all so very soon.
Sioux City 70
Storm Lake 80
Algona 50
Clear Lake 75
Waverly 75
Cedar Rapids 60
Maquoketa 40
Clinton (total 440)
Am I the only one who saw the Facebook hint from Ragbrai about the route? This was photographs supposedly taken by Dieter on his route selection trip. It showed the State Capitol building and a cornfield. I suppose that could be taken to mean the ride will be in Iowa!
I would think that Dubuque and Rock Rapids are off the table, but I can’t figure people out.

I saw the pictures and consider the Capitol to be a red herring, as it was him arriving back in Des Moines. On his Facebook, one person noted the share the road signs were just outside Le Mars which he “thumbs up”, which again might be a red herring.
I’m not sure I follow why Dubuque and Rock Rapids are off the table, as it doesn’t hurt RAGBRAI to start/finish in those towns and benefits those who are going to ride both rides. While that might be only in the hundreds who ride both, why put extra burden upon them.

Is there going to be an official guess the route contest this year?
My final guess:
Le Mars
Storm Lake
Humboldt
Hampton
Mason City
Waverly
Manchester
Dubuque
I doubt there would be one at this point. They had one last year and never publicly announced a winner.
